Langham Hotel

43-49 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AH, UK – 01323 731451

Just spent 4 wonderful days at the Langham I wouldn't hesitate on recommending it to anyone. Had a wonderful stay with excellent weather too. Excellent care , service and food. Credit due to good management and teamwork My only comment would be more care to be taken at keeping the outdoor tables, chair area better. Could do with a good sweep and hose down. Not good when you have to request table go be cleaned due to sticky spillages and full ashtrays. I hope in the future that I may be lucky enough to visit again. Room 222 Mrs Cooper

My partner and I stayed here overnight on a weekend coastal trip, and had one of the city view rooms. The hotel's decor looks a little dated, but in a charming way. The room was reasonably sized with a decently comfortable bed, and a nice sized bath with a shower overhead. There were also monogrammed robes in the room which were a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs within a short walking distance, and we were able to find street parking just around the corner from the hotel. A simple but tasty two course breakfast was included. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and we were even given a bottle of water for our onward journey when we checked out, which was really thoughtful.

Beamsley Lodge

86-87 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AE, UK – 01323 720297

Lovely little B & B! My ground floor single room was clean & cosy! Allison & Dave made me feel most welcome! I particularly liked that they provided non dairy marg & milk for me at breakfast, as I’m a Vegan. The location is great, just across the road from the beach. I also felt that it was good value for money. If your on a budget, & looking for a modest yet homely B & B, this is ideal. I will definitely return.

Great little place for a weekend getaway. Run by a lovely couple who will give you any info you need and even provide an early breakfast for those who have to go to work or leave early :)

Best Western York House Hotel

14-22 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AP, UK – 01323 412918

The location was outstanding. Small lobby and reception. Rooms huge. There was a queen bed for us and a single bed and a sofa bed for the kids. The bathroom was tiny in comparison to the room but perfectly adequate. Usual tea making facilities. Good beds. View of the water which was fab. Didn’t bother with breakfast as we went out. Parking was not easy but we found space a couple of streets away. Overall good value for money in terms of convenience and comfort.

Friendly welcome and provided with a parking voucher. The night Porter was very helpful and friendly. Room very small, bathroom tiny, barely room to move. Sheets stained and bathroom was generally OK if a little stained and dusty in parts. Beds best described as camping beds. Breakfast was very poor. Most things had run out and there was no attempt to replenish. 4 staff were busy putting cutlery away almost continually whilst the chef appeared to be just chilling. Greasy spoons sat next to empty dishes including marmalade (perhaps there is a shortage) The toasters sat on the table none of which toasted. Virtually everyone joked about them. Generally a limited choice. Given breakfast is served til 9.30am everyone should be able to access the same quality breakfast. No wonder places like Premier Inn do such good business.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Farm @ Friday Street

15 Friday St, Langney, Eastbourne BN23 8AP, UK – 01323 766049

A proper Gastro pub. Great food, quality branded alcohol. Same faces behind the bar every time you visit. Quite middle class (not a bad thing). They do an excellent breakfast at weekends and in the summer they often have a beer, cider and music festival.

Grandparents, Mum and 5 year old ate here on May Bank Holiday. Couldn't fault anything. Great food, great service. They couldn't do enough for us. Sized plates of food to suit eg 5 year old couldn't eat whole plate of macaroni cheese so they halved quality and price. Same with Ploughman's. Battered fish and chips is enormous. Excellent ales. Definitely on our list next time we are in the area.

The Red Lion

Lion Hill, Stone Cross, Pevensey BN24 5EG, UK – 01323 761468

We went to a family party here, never been to the area before. Food was good, a hot buffet. Staff were friendly and all facilities were clean and tidy. Would like to go back again to try the restaurant, we really liked what we saw on our visit

Was there for a Wake. The staff was friendly and welcoming. There are some benches at the front of the pub, but they also have a lovely patio area with plenty of seating. There are some car spaces at the front but also a car park at the rear. I thought the prices were steep but I don't go to the pub very often.

Smugglers Inn

High St, Pevensey BN24 5LF, UK – 01323 762112

Went for a meal today. Really packed. This lead to being ignored at the bar and not getting served while people were being served before us who waited less time. They do a 3 course meal for £11.50 but only Monday to Friday. Today was full price for food but it was not to standard for that price. Portion sizes were small and kids pizzas were burnt. I mean black burnt. Really bad experience. Other times I have been it's been alright but today was a bad experience. I wont be rushing back.

An attractive old pub with low ceiling and beams, lovely outdoor space and live music. Great food!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Beachside Guest House & Holiday Apartments

52 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AQ, UK – 01323 646444

Hi. I am just using my daughters account. We had an amazing weekend. The accommodation and services were top notch. As a keen sea swimmer, I was able to get my 8am dip in every morning as the hotel is just across from the sea. Our hosts couldn’t be nicer and I would highly recommend a visit to this dream place. The room we stayed in was so quiet, we couldn’t hear a pin drop and the facilities were marvellous. Thanks for such a memorable weekend. Martin & Fiona

Out stay at beautiful Beachside was everything we had hoped for and more. A brilliant sea front location but really quiet in our Apartment, we had No2. There were 3 of us; 2 adults and a 6 year old - we all found the Apartment comfy and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable, and there were lots of handy hanging hooks throughout the Apartment which was useful for bags, coats, etc. John was a friendly and extremely helpful host. The extensive DVD library in the front lobby was most welcome. We were able to stock up on food easily - just a short 5 minute walk to a Sainsbury's corner shop which had all the basics. We were a bit apprehensive about parking on the street as Beachside doesn't have any designated parking spaces, but it was no problem. We parked a street away or nearer quite easily every day. A brilliant week's holiday, despite cold and misty weather, we would all love to stay at Beachside again and would thoroughly recommend it.

You can find excellent very well priced accommodation around Eastbourne using Airbnb!

We run an Airbnb bed and breakfast down in Devon (house below) - and we have stayed in Airbnb accommodation all over the place. You can find the wonderful little gems with totally committed hosts and really frightful places which you put down to experience! You absolutely have to read the details of each listing - and read the reviews! We have had people coming to East Quither Farm expecting to take over our whole house -  or our kitchen etc simply because they have not read the description. Basically use Airbnb wherever we go - but we do do our homework!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Pebble Beach Bed and Breakfast

53 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AQ, UK – 01323 431240

Neil and Sally are wonderful hosts - they are very welcoming and helpful. The house is beautiful, very clean and very well finished. Our double room on the ground floor had a lovely sea view and there are a lot of excellent restaurants nearby, only a 5 minute walk or so. The beach is literally a stones throw away. The promenade along the beach is lined with beautiful buildings and hotels. I'd always dismissed Eastbourne as a weekend or holiday location but I was wrong, I'd very happily come back here and highly recommend a stay.

Stayed at pebble beach. What a great place .Lovely clean room . Lovely breakfast. Neil & sally are great people Very helpful 11out of 10

The Limes Bed and Breakfast

26 Rattle Rd, Westham, Pevensey BN24 5DQ, UK – 01323 769936

Had a wonderful 4 night stay with my family. Two beautifully clean and spacious rooms with a bathroom shared between the 4 of us. Breakfast was fantastic, hosts very welcoming and knowledgable. There are local pubs within walking distance, the Oak and Castle was our personal favourite. We travelled to Brighton by train, the station is a 5 minute walk away, just under an hours completely hassle free journey, highly recommend it. Also visited Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay and Beachy Head. The Limes is a great B & B and a perfect base for exploring this gorgeous part of the country.

An absolute pleasure to stay. Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Thoroughly recommend!

Bay Lodge Guest House

61 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AQ, UK – 01323 732515

The guest house is in an excellent location on the sea front, just a 10 minute walk from the pier. The room was clean and well equipped with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast in the morning is a buffet selection of fruits and cereals followed by a freshly cooked breakfast with excellent quality ingredients. Personally my wife and I found the bed too soft for our liking but this is personal preference and I would recommend Bay Lodge to anyone staying in Eastbourne if a soft mattress is not an issue.

Very nice and good place for weekend

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Fairfields Farm

39 Eastbourne Rd, Westham, Pevensey BN24 5NG, UK – 01323 763165

We were really happy with this campsite. We needed an easy and safe family environment as it was our first camping trip with our toddler. Fairfields Farm Campsite was exactly that. You can keep your car on your pitch which we found really convenient. The grown-ups were happy with the cleanliness of the showers and loos, and our toddler loved the farm animals who seemed very happy and well-kept. The only reason I have given four and not five stars is because of the lack of local produce in the shop. I'd love to see them sell local farm eggs, free-range organic meats, local ciders and salads from nearby Hankham Organics the next time we go!

Fabulous site, clean toilets and showers. Lots of farm animals around the site/farm all well looked after. Lovely little fishing lake. Would come back and recommend highly. 10/10

Grey Tower Caravan Park

Pevensey Bay Holiday Park

Eastbourne Rd, Pevensey Bay, Pevensey BN24 6DH, UK – 01323 761424

Amazing sales team! we dealt with a man called Pete, very friendly indeed answered all of our questions and nothing was any problem at all, He was very helpful and patient with us, whilst there we visited the club house and the lady that worked behind the bar was also very friendly and helped us warm our babies bottle as it was feeding time also served our drinks super fast cannot recommend this place enough!!! Super friendly team members and great facilities! Thanks to everyone who made our visit feel extra special your all doing an amazing Job!

Recently taken over, new pool rules are somewhat strict - no inflatables, no toys for the kids, almost to the point you cant splash in the pool. The place overall is very clean and tidy, the lawns are mowed repeatedly - the leisure centre gym is sparse with little equipment, but the bar area is where the atmosphere is. Calendar is filled with a variety of entertainment to suit all ages, plenty of seating and an outdoor area.

Youth Hostels have very much come of age. Gone are the days of iron beds and communal wash basins. Click below for a Youth Hostel near in Eastbourne. You will be pleasently surprised at what is one offer.
